Geoffrey Croker is a youtuber, from New Zealand, on a journey to restore is his 1978 Land Rover Series 3 SWB

This series of videos will follow the restoration progress of a 1978 Series 3 Land Rover. Part 1, is an introduction to the vehicle and basic teardown. The Land Rover has been with me for around six years. It’s a little rough around the edges, but generally OK. I’ve done a bit of mechanical work to it over that time. Including reconditioning the engine, rebuilding the gearbox, rebuilding both axles and the braking system, and many other small fixes along the way. But she has started to go downhill lately, particularly the condition of the body. Most of the body is aluminium, but steel is rusting rapidly. So it’s time to do something about it…
