A Bride for a Ride

TAI invites eight famous matchmakers home to discuss the marriage issue of TIGER but all the matchmakers are pessimistic towards the matter. BUN decides to pursue YING and he tries to convince YING that he is still very talented. SHAN stays to give him full support. TAI brings YING and the nursing mother to the temple to worship the god. BUN pretends to be a fortuneteller to serve YING but TIGER arrives to unmask him. TIGER and LEUNG are going to have a kung fu contest. LEUNG tries to search for bear gall bladders to heal her injury but TIGER buys all the bear gall bladders in town. LEUNG is upset and the relationship becomes worse with TIGER. In order to create a chance for him to explain himself to YING, BUN pretends to be a doctor to treat YING but TIGER unmasks him again. TAI organizes a Hero's Meet in order to find a wife for TIGER. TIGER tries to buy restorative to heal his injury but he mistakenly buys some love-potions.

BUN learns that YING is going to join the Hero's Meet. SHAN suggests him dressing like a woman so as to get close to YING and he accepts the suggestion. BUN looks very beautiful in female disguise and TIGER is attracted by him instantly. TIGER tries his very best to get BUN's attention and he even snatches him home due to the effect of love-potions. Everybody is afraid of TIGER so they show no reaction. LEUNG finds it unbearable and she rushes to TIGER's home to rescue BUN. After being rescued, BUN seizes the chance to stay with YING in her chamber. In order to protect BUN, LEUNG accompanies BUN to walk around the street overnight. On the next day, BUN's real identity is uncovered. TAI believes that nothing had happened between BUN and YING but she decides to marry YING to BUN so as to protect YING's reputation. However, strict rules are set up for the marriage...… ...

SHAN starts a quarrel with Master CHIN in the brothel. He then makes a bet with CHIN and claims that he can make himself invisible on the street. On the next day, CHIN finds that SHAN is walking naked on the street but nobody seemed to discover him... LEUNG tries to investigate if TIGER has the scar of her rescuer. BUN reveals to SHAN that he had rescued LEUNG when she was just a kid and he requested LEUNG to marry him in the future. SHAN suggests BUN to cover his scar by Japanese tattoo but BUN cannot bear the pain. In order to solve the "problem", SHAN and BUN set up a plan. They make TIGER drunk and ask the tattooist to draw the "scar" on TIGER’s body. During the kung fu contest, LEUNG discovers TIGER’s "scar"...

BUN and SHAN help LEUNG change her image. SHAN suggests LEUNG to please TAI as the first step to pursue TIGER. LEUNG pretends to be a gentle lady but TAI unmasks her immediately. Everybody suddenly cares a lot about TIGER’s marriage issue and they send TIGER many wedding gifts. TIGER discovers that they are doing it for their own benefits and he runs after them madly. LEUNG arrives to stop him from beating others. TAI appreciates LEUNG for being able to suppress TIGER with her kung-fu. In order to give TIGER more pressure to get married, TAI suddenly wants to get married again… BUN dresses in female attire and he pretends to be MUNG LO. He dates TIGER and requests him to snatch “her” (MUNG LO) on her wedding day. TIGER snatches MUNG LO’s bridal sedan chair successfully. BUN and LEUNG are very nervous about it… TIGER is shocked to discover LEUNG on his wedding day and he wants to cancel the wedding…

LEUNG marries TIGER eventually but the couple keeps fighting with each other all the time. Since they are fighting during every meal, all family members have to hide in the kitchen to finish their meals and they find it unbearable. In order to improve their relationship, all family members try every different ways to mediate between them. They finally create a chance for the couple to see each other’s naked bodies. LEUNG is bitten by a snake. TIGER tries to rescue her but the snake suddenly jumps to him… TIGER meets SING on the street and he scolds him for treating his wife LO badly. LO arrives to speak up for her husband and TIGER realizes that he has been cheated to snatch LO on her wedding day. TIGER teases BUN for living on his wife’s money. BUN is upset and he agrees to work for TIGER. TIGER brings BUN to the funeral home and he asks BUN to re-write the label of each coffin. BUN works till late night and he suddenly sees ghosts…

FEI suddenly suffers from delusion and SHAN seizes the chance to make fun of her with his friends. Upon waking up, FEI scolds and beats SHAN angrily. SHAN’s good friends scold him for they learn that he is going to take the government exams. SHAN questions FEI about it angrily and they end up continuing their arguments at the local court… In the morning, TIGER asks his subordinates to “take care” of BUN. His subordinates misconceive his meaning and they beat BUN together. LEUNG subdues them and TIGER. However, she discovers that this wasn’t TIGER’s intention so she helps to treat his wounds with medicated oil. BUN is very popular among women and he feels good about it. FUNG JEI and WAH LUNG from Lung Fung Inn discover it accidentally. They decide to blackmail BUN… BUN is mesmerized by a pretty woman. Worrying that his sister will be heart-broken, TIGER agrees to pay FUNG one thousand dollars.… ...

SHAN makes a bet to everybody that BUN is innocent. He visits Lung Fung Inn with his friends while creating chance for BUN to investigate the place. BUN dresses in female attire to carry out investigation. Afterwards, he meets TIGER on the street and TIGER stuns him. BUN wakes up to find that he is lying right besides a hot spring for females. All the ladies in the hot spring discover that he is a male and they send him to the court. BUN is dismissed from his current official title. He writes a letter to everybody and goes away silently. FEI starts a quarrel with SHAN. SHAN is enraged and he wants a divorce. TAI, FEI and YING all put the blame on TIGER but LEUNG supports him… LEUNG waits for BUN at the gate of the County but she fails to see him. She is starving and she faints eventually. All family members finally forgive TIGER and they ask him to search for BUN with LEUNG but they fail to find BUN at the end.… ...

Magistrate BEI tells TIGER that the emperor’s favorite eunuch LAU GAN is going to visit the place and he asks TIGER to prepare for it. BUN meets GAN accidentally and they come into conflicts with each other. YING discovers the whereabouts of BUN and she rushes to the brothel to look for him. She is heart-broken to find BUN fooling around with the prostitutes and she runs away sadly. GAN is recovered from his injury. He discovers BUN at the cliff for BUN is trying to commit suicide. GAN rescues him and encourages him to carry on. The emperor comes to the County secretly. GAN reports to the emperor that he is not able to pursue FUNG JEI for him and the emperor scolds him angrily. GAN worries that problems will occur at the palace and he wants to settle the emperor’s request as soon as possible. He therefore decides to seek help from BUN who is a romantic and talented scholar.… ...

TIGER discovers that the emperor wants to rape FUNG while she is fainted. He rushes in to beat him immediately. LEUNG arrives to stop him from killing the emperor. BEN is helpless and SHAN arrives to suggest that they should kill everybody… They end up in jail and they are very scared that they would be put to cruel torture. Surprisingly, the emperor arrives to thank BEN. This is because FUNG wakes up to find him seriously injured and she misconceives that the emperor has risk his life to save her. As a result, the emperor finally gains the love of FUNG. With the help of GAN, the emperor promotes BEN and BEN decides to take revenge on the WONG’s family. All the people in WONG’s family try to run away… GAN suddenly asks BEN to dress himself in female attire again for he wants him to serve his friends during dinner. Unfortunately, GAN’s friends try to take advantage of BEN since he is so pretty…

SHAN’s students tease him for being out of his mind after FEI is gone. FEI keeps persuading the students who are heading for government exams to accept her financial aid for she wants to be the Lady of First Grade. SHAN starts a literature contest with a student for fun and this student loses huge amount of money. This student had actually accepted financial aid from FEI by signing a contract with her. FEI is enraged and she bursts into the brothel to make it a mess. She breaks BEN’s drawing and causes the injury of the brothel’s owner Madam FIRE. TIGER and SHAN persuade FIRE not to report it to the government officials. They promise her that BEN will make another drawing for her. BEN is worried that his drawing will be displayed in the brothel and he asks GAN’s subordinate to steal the drawing from TIGER. FIRE sues TIGER in the local court and TIGER loses his job as a chief guard.… ...

All family members find that TIGER is acting strangely while going out with him. The doctor says that TIGER is suffering from depression after the great shock. The remedy is to let him bawl and cry but TIGER says that he is doing fine. LEUNG finds that TIGER is lost in reverie at the gate tower. TIGER brings LEUNG to a walk and he reveals his past love stories to her. LEUNG realizes that TIGER had encountered lots of obstacles in love and he doesn’t know how to express his feelings to others. TIGER learns that BEN is visiting and he demonstrates kung fu to him just to prove that he is doing fine… After the kung fu demonstration, TIGER becomes very sick and LEUNG accompanies him all the way to console him. TIGER finally cries and bawls in front of her. Everybody is very surprised to find that TIGER has recovered miraculously. In order to help TIGER, LEUNG visits SHAN to investigate the truth about the missing drawing.… ...

LEUNG wants to reveal everything to TIGER but she only finds other family members at home. She later hesitates if she should reveal the truth to TIGER. TIGER returns to talk to LEUNG and he brings her a pair of earrings… SHAN worries that TIGER will attack him so he rushes to WONG’s family to reveal the truth. LEUNG feels that there is no reason for her to stay anymore so she leaves. Encouraged by all family members, TIGER leaves home to look for LEUNG. GAN hopes that the emperor could go back to the capital so he asks BEN to think of some ways to separate the emperor and FUNG. SHAN and BEN bribe FUNG with large sum of money and FUNG agrees to leave the emperor. The emperor is heartbroken to learn that FUNG has died and he cries sadly in front of her.… ...

BEN leads an army for the first time and he is defeated. People say that Prince LING is going to attack Mui Lung County soon… YING dresses in male attire and leaves the county secretly to look for BEN. She meets FEI who is also in male attire coincidentally. BEN and SHAN are defeated by the rebel army. They are almost killed but TIGER arrives to rescue them on time. TIGER helps them because of YING and other family members. In order to carry out investigation on the enemy’s army, TIGER pretends to be a wounded soldier of LING’s army. He arrives at LING’s camp to find that SHAN and BEN are already captured by the army. BEN’s toe is seriously injured. In order to get medicine for BEN, TIGER makes himself injured. TIGER has forgiven BEN and SHAN for what they had done to him. BEN and SHAN are deeply touched by him and they become good friends.… ...

BEN tries to get close to LING during performance but his real identity is unmasked accidentally. BEN, SHAN and TIGER run away together but TIGER collapses on the way. BEN and SHAN are cornered by the chasers as well... TAI's students persuade her to prepare for TIGER's funeral. TAI doesn't know what to do and LEUNG suddenly appears... TIGER finally wakes up and he sees LEUNG. LEUNG leaves WONG's family and she meets her teacher Master MAO HOP who used to bring her up. BEN survives from the fight eventually but all the soldiers are killed. BEN has no choice but to report his failure shamefully to GAN... Everybody discovers that BEN is worrying about something and they question him. BEN reveals that GAN requested him to lead 300 incompetent soldiers as the bait to attract LING's troops. On the other hand, MAO HOP wants LEUNG to help fight against the emperor and she asks LEUNG to stay at TIGER's place for collecting information.

BEN tries to draw away LING's troops but nobody follows his troops. BEN therefore decides to attack LING's troops directly. GAN escorts the emperor and FUNG while leaving Mui Lung County but some killers who claim to be appointed by LING suddenly arrive... BEN tries to light up a fire at the beacon tower so that LING will return but the government officers stop him from doing so. TIGER throws a burning lance towards the beacon tower but the lance reaches LING's army camp unexpectedly... The emperor returns to Mui Lung County and he wants to promote BEN for his success in eliminating LING's troops. BEN wants to reveal to the emperor that TIGER is the real hero behind the success but GAN stops him from telling the truth. WONG's family believes that TIGER would be promoted soon but BEN only assigns TIGER to work as the chief guard again. Trying not the disappoint TIGER, TAI bribes all her neighbours for pleasing TIGER...… ...

BEN tries to report to the emperor that FUNG is still alive. He discovers that the emperor has gone mad by dressing himself in FUNG's attire for he misses FUNG too much... GAN’s subordinates report to the emperor that they have discovered FUNG's dead body at the seashore. The emperor is enraged and he accuses GAN for telling lies... As arranged by GAN, the emperor realizes that it was TIGER who stunned him last time. BEN is in jail and TIGER brings the seriously injured SHAN to jail as well for he has a plan... TIGER discovers that the prison's guard is killed and BEN is missing. The emperor brings TIGER and GAN to the mountain for hunting and MAO HOP suddenly attacks them. MAO HOP and GAN find each other at WONG's family. TIGER thereby realizes that MAO HOP is LEUNG's teacher. During the fight, TAI is hurt by MAO HOP's poisonous dart accidentally. LEUNG breaks up with MAO HOP for she wants to return to WONG's family.… ...

TIGER discovers that GAN can save his mother and he begs him to help. GAN agrees to help even if he is injured as well and TIGER is deeply touched. GAN wants to attack the emperor but TIGER obstructs his plan all the time. The lantern festival is coming. The emperor asks TIGER and his subordinates to be his bodyguards. GAN's guards are trying to deliver a secret letter for him but some brigands attack them. BEN has been captured by these brigands as well and he realizes that the emperor is in danger after reading the secret letter. He therefore tries to run away. TIGER discovers that LEUNG and BEN have returned to Mui Lung County. He wants to arrest BEN again for BEN is a runaway prisoner. GAN asks TIGER to mesmerize the emperor during the lantern festival for he wants to bring him back to the capital and TIGER agrees immediately.… ...

TIGER tries to put the drugs in the emperor’s food but he fails every time. LEUNG and BEN finally find a chance to get close to the emperor. GAN has rescued TIGER before and TIGER cannot believe that GAN is a bad person. BEN snatches the drugs and swallows it. TIGER realizes the truth and he fights with GAN. GAN captures TIGER and he threatens LEUNG to hand over the emperor. SHAN tries to rescue BEN but he meets some government officers on the way. TIGER’s subordinates help BEN and SHAN escape. SHAN and the others finally find GAN’s “treasure” by following BEN’s map… Everything is settled eventually. TIGER argues with LEUNG that his weapon has killed GAN a bit earlier than hers. LEUNG therefore moves to SHAN’s place angrily and the family members scold LEUNG for doing so. TIGER discovers that SHAN is making Lung Fung Inn a tourist attraction and he is jealous of LEUNG’s good relationship with the emperor…

Being ordered by TAI, TIGER tries to pick LEUNG up with a bridal sedan chair. BEN and SHAN accompany him to pick up LEUNG. They reveal to TIGER that LEUNG is getting close with the emperor lately. They then discover that the emperor is sending a pair of expensive pearl earrings to LEUNG and TIGER scolds them angrily in front of everybody… A student has gained a place in the officialdom after having outstanding performance in the government exams and he returns to propose marriage to FEI. SHAN is enraged and he scolds him madly. Later, a few other students return to propose marriage to FEI and she is overjoyed. It is announced that the emperor will marry LEUNG and TIGER is shocked. TAI tells TIGER that she is buying some silk fabric for LEUNG’s wedding.… ...
